Students from Waianae Intermediate School, Punahou Middle School and Honolulu Waldorf High School, and kupuna from the Moiliili Senior Center enjoyed a special performance of spiritual music based on mystic poetry by Sufi masters.

In conjunction with the opening of the East-West Center's latest exhibit, exhibit organizer, Dr. Arjumand Faisel shared his insights and expertise on Pakistani art with gallery visitors.

Dr. Arjumand Faisel presented his talk, "Unseen Colors of Pakistan," to East-West Center staff and visitors. Sana Arjumand, whose paintings are included in the exhibit, also spoke.

Royal Thai Dancers

Students from Kuhio Elementary School's 5th grade class visited the East-West Center Gallery to learn about plant and fiber textiles at the "Material Choices" exhibit. Also included was a hands-on lesson just outside the Gallery. They later joined other students from Mid-Pacific Institute Middle School's 6th grade class, the Academy of the Pacific Middle School, Campbell High School, and Waianae Intermediate School for a performance by the Royal Thai Dancers and Musicians from the Fine Arts Department of the Royal Thai Government.
